Ranch Rods
It’s horsepower meets horse country as master builder Tim McClellan
and his team transform beat-up classics into badass hybrids.

Adam Wilkenfeld is a three-time Emmy Award-winning director, producer, interviewer, and writer whose work has reached audiences across North America and around the world. He created and executive produced Slobby’s World (Netflix) and Timber Kings (HGTV Canada), which ran for four seasons, spawned a spinoff, and became the #1 series in the network’s history. Adam also served as showrunner for the launch season of Timber Kings, which premiered with 4.5x the network’s average viewership in its timeslot.
Earlier in his career, Adam was Development Producer, Executive Producer, and Showrunner on Saw Dogs (Discovery), and spent more than a decade producing news and documentaries on social and medical issues impacting children and families. In that period, he conducted more than 2,000 interviews—often on deeply sensitive topics—and led crews through 25 U.S. states and Canadian provinces. Two of his Emmy Awards recognize Outstanding Documentary work; the third honors Best Public Affairs Programming.
Beyond television, Adam has brought his storytelling skills to campaigns for clients such as the New York State Education Department, Morehouse College, The Centers for Disease Control, Neutrogena, RL Leaders, the U.S. Army, THQ Video Games, Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles Unified School District, and many others. Whether for broadcast, documentary, or branded content, his work combines curiosity, empathy, and precision to create stories that resonate.
At Cowboy Customs, owner Tim McClellan doesn’t just restore classic trucks—he reimagines them. Each episode follows his crew as they transform vintage American pickups into one-of-a-kind “Ranch Rods,” fusing rustic Western soul with the power, handling, and cutting-edge tech of a modern supercar.
Tim’s not bound by the rules of traditional car culture, which means his designs surprise even his own team, blending wood, leather, metal, and unexpected paint techniques into jaw-dropping builds. But perfectionism, strong opinions, and a shop full of big personalities mean sparks fly from the welders as often as from the torch.
