About Us

Built for Creators. Trusted by Producers.

Why I built Showrilly

I didn’t come up in reality TV. I came up in journalism and documentary — deep dives, hard truths, and stories that rarely wrapped in under 22 minutes. Then one day, a friend asked me to help with a sizzle for a show idea. I didn’t even know what a “sizzle” was. But I said yes. We sold it. I ran the show. And I was hooked.

Since then, I’ve developed, sold, and produced multiple unscripted series — including Timber Kings, which premiered as the highest-rated original in HGTV Canada’s history. I’ve produced dozens of hours of television that have aired in over 100 countries, led crews of two and crews of 122, and managed everything from shoestring budgets to seven-figure productions. I’ve pitched boutique buyers, global networks, and everyone in between.

Along the way, something kept happening: the best ideas weren’t always mine. They came from first-time creators, friends-of-friends, people outside the system with sharp instincts but no industry access. And I kept wondering, why is it still so hard to get a great idea in front of someone who can say yes?

I’ve used every other platform out there. I know the friction points. Showrilly is built for transparency, momentum, and giving creators more control. It’s not a marketplace where ideas collect dust. It’s a pitch engine. A visibility tool. A space where creators stay in control, and producers can move at their own pace.

Not every pitch deserves a greenlight. But every pitch deserves a shot. That’s why Showrilly exists.

FAQ

Creators

No. Showrilly is not a talent agency or employment service, and we do not guarantee meetings, representation, or employment. What we provide is a publishing platform — a place where creators can showcase their unscripted TV ideas to verified producers. Every producer on the platform is vetted, and you’ll be able to track who views, saves, or engages with your pitch. If a producer is interested, they can choose to reach out, but that decision is always in their hands.

Submitting a reality show idea on Showrilly is simple. Anyone can join, and every creator gets access to our step-by-step Pitch Builder. You’ll be able to upload your title, logline, pitch deck, sizzle, and any supporting materials that help bring your idea to life. Don’t have everything yet? That’s okay, start with what you do have. You can save drafts, add new materials, or update your pitch anytime, even after it’s live. Our Resource Library is full of free guides to help you create a deck, polish a logline, or make a sizzle reel when you’re ready.

Once published, your project appears in the Pitch Room, where verified producers can browse concepts and reach out directly if they’re interested. No gatekeepers, just your idea in front of the right eyes.

Only verified reality TV producers have access to The Pitch Room. Every producer on Showrilly is vetted, meaning they’ve submitted real credentials like IMDb pages, network credits, or production company affiliations.

Every producer agrees to our platform-wide Terms of Service, which includes a professional conduct clause: they can’t misuse your content, and you retain full ownership of everything you upload.

Every view, download, and message is time-stamped and logged, so you always know who’s looking. You stay in control, and your work stays protected.

When it happens, you’ll get notified. Showrilly gives you creator-first analytics no other platform offers: real-time, detailed, and actually useful.

You’ll see exactly who viewed your pitch, how many times they watched your sizzle, which companies downloaded your deck, and which producers saved or passed (including pass reasons, when shared). If someone wants to connect, they’ll message you directly, and you’ll get an instant notification.

This isn’t just visibility, it’s strategy. You can refine your pitch with real data, not guesswork.

You’re not pitching into the void. With Showrilly, you get a front-row seat to how producers engage with your work, and the tools to level up fast.

Yes, because verified producers are here, actively scouting reality show ideas and unscripted TV concepts.

Showrilly was built for one purpose: connecting bold, original creators with the people who greenlight new ideas. Every day,  producers log in to browse concepts outside their usual pipeline. They’re scouting for fresh concepts, unique casts, hidden worlds, and sizzles that spark curiosity.

Will every pitch get a deal? No platform can promise that. But on Showrilly, you’re not uploading into a black hole. You’ll see exactly who’s viewing your pitch, what they downloaded, and when they saved it. That feedback loop is real, and it helps you revise smarter, pitch better, and stay in the game.

The producers are real. The scouting is real. And when your pitch aligns, those connections can be real too.

This isn’t about waiting to be discovered. It’s about showing up with a pitch that demands attention, and knowing the platform is built to make sure it gets seen.

The ones with unforgettable people and rare access. Producers are drawn to real characters with big personalities, high stakes, or unique insight, and to pitches that offer a window into a world they haven’t seen (or a fresh angle on one they thought they knew).

What works:

  • Bold, cast-driven concepts
  • Unique access to hidden or hard-to-film communities
  • Clear, simple formats with strong hooks
  • Real people worth watching, even just one
  • Fresh takes on proven genres (crime, makeover, docuseries, etc.)

What doesn't:

  • Vague ideas with no clear characters
  • Concepts reliant on celebrities you don’t have
  • Pitches without a compelling story engine
  • Projects that feel too similar to existing shows

Tip: It’s not just about the idea, it’s about who it’s about, and why they’re impossible to ignore.

Yes. You can update your pitch anytime: tweak the logline, swap out your sizzle, upload a new deck, whatever improves your materials.

Need to take it down temporarily? You can unpublish a concept with one click. It’ll stay saved in your dashboard until you’re ready to make it live again.

Your pitch, your timeline.

Head to your account settings. You can switch plans, cancel, or pause any time. Changes take effect at the end of your billing cycle.

Your concepts stay right where you left them. Unless you ask us to delete them, we’ll save everything in your dashboard so you can pick up where you left off whenever you're ready to return. No pressure, no data loss, just pause and come back when the time’s right.

We’ll give you a heads-up and try again. If it still doesn’t go through, your plan features will pause until you're back up and running.

Right now, Showrilly is focused exclusively on unscripted television, everything from follow-doc series to special access documentaries to shiny-floor game shows and competition formats. If your project involves actors performing memorized lines, that’s a scripted concept, and we’re not the right fit at this time.

Why? Because the producers using Showrilly specialize in factual and reality programming. They’re not looking for scripted pitches, and we don’t want you to waste time sharing ideas with an audience that isn’t a match.

In the future, we may expand to include scripted, but for now our mission is to give unscripted creators a clearer path to producers scouting what’s next in unscripted TV.

Producers

No. Access is completely free for verified producers, and we don’t take a cut of any deals made through the platform. Requests for access are reviewed reviewed as quickly as possible, often within hours.

You’ll find a wide range of unscripted formats, from docuseries and social experiments to dating shows, challenge formats, lifestyle content, and more. Every pitch includes a logline, summary, and creative materials like decks, sizzles or casting tapes. You can filter by genre, tone, target audience, or region, to zero in on what matters most to you. Whether you're chasing breakout characters or bold new formats, it's all in the Pitch Room.

When you request contact on a pitch, two things happen immediately:

  • The creator is notified via email and through their Showrilly dashboard.
  • A private message thread is opened between you and the creator, right on the platform.

You can message them directly from there. No cold DMs, no public threads, no gatekeepers. These creators have chosen to make their projects visible to producers like you.

Creators can respond quickly, and you’ll be able to track the status of your outreach from your dashboard. If you’d like space to negotiate or evaluate the project without outside attention, you can also request a 72-hour hold, which temporarily removes the pitch from public visibility while you explore next steps.

No. Only producers can initiate contact. Creators can’t message you unless you reach out first.

Showrilly offers an optional Private Review Window for Producers who want a little extra time to evaluate a pitch without competing interest. For a one-time administrative fee of $39.99, the concept is temporarily removed from public view for 72 hours. During that window, only you and the Creator can access it, giving you space to ask questions, exchange information, and evaluate the project.

It’s important to note: this is not a legal hold on rights. The Creator retains full control of their project, and the concept automatically reappears in the Pitch Room after the 72-hour period if no next steps are agreed.

Just sign up for a free producer account and request access. Once verified, you’ll unlock the Pitch Room and be able to browse, filter, and reach out directly to creators.

100%. You own your content. Always. Showrilly doesn’t take any ownership or claim rights to your material.
